Advantages of Using Steel Grating for Guardrails

Time:2021-11-23

Guardrails fabricated from steel grating and structural steel combine robustness, durability, and a majestic yet elegant aesthetic. Their unique and distinctive design makes them suitable for deployment in any required location. They are widely used across boilers, power plants, shipbuilding, metallurgy, petrochemicals, and municipal construction. Typical application scenarios include industrial platforms, stairways, work catwalks, fire escape routes, bridges, water treatment systems, school sports facilities, and dockyards.

Product Features & Standards

Steel grating guardrails, also known as Steel Grating Fences, utilize a novel ball-joint railing structure. They inherently possess the advantages of being economical, visually appealing, easy to install, and structurally durable, making them highly regarded in the barrier industry.

Dimensional Requirements (Width)

High Traffic: If the grating walkway serves as a frequently used passage or is subject to simultaneous cross-traffic by multiple people, the width shall be increased to 1200mm (120 cm).

Egress Routes: If the grating walkway serves as an evacuation route, its width must satisfy specific regulatory requirements. In the absence of specific regulations, the width shall be not less than 1200mm (120 cm).

New Platform Standards & Applications

New standards for galvanized steel grating platforms have been introduced, establishing clear requirements for design dimensions and load-bearing capacities. The surface is treated with Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG), rendering the product virtually maintenance-free. This makes it especially suitable for fencing in municipal, garden parks, transportation, and construction sectors.
